A full waiting room at a doctor’s office is not a sign of popularity as it would be for a restaurant! On the contrary, it reflects lack of punctuality and respect for the patient’s time. In my case I had to pick up my son and I could not be delayed a minute! I am so appreciative that Dr. Metaxas was punctual and checked me in right after the previous patient was checked out. During the examination, the doctor asked me a few questions and he had a look on both heels. He tried to diagnose if there was liquid inside and he used both hand-pressure and an advanced-technology ultrasound that he had in his office. He is very knowledgeable and he explained to me what we could see in the ultrasound and what are the possible problems/causes for the pain.
I decided to have a second appointment where he would make a small cut on the heel to re-examine and clear it. The cut was done with care: not only were all surgical equipment very very clean but also I was impressed by the fact that the doctor was very friendly asking me at several points of the process if I was ok, and almost apologizing for the small pains caused by hand pressure in the beginning of the process. My heel was healed and I could walk pretty soon after the third (and last) visit. My insurance covers 80% for podiatrists and I had to submit my 20%. The office called me a month after my last visit to ask me pay my third visit which I accidentally had missed! They accepted my payment information on the phone and this was done pretty fast with no extra charges and without making me feel awkward at all. My treatment was very fast and effectual. I would definitely choose Dr. Metaxas in the future as he has been very professional and I would trust him for more severe problems.”
Dr. Metaxas was fantastic, he talked to me in his charismatic, but professional manner, and never made me feel like my problems weren’t important. He understood my anxiety and recommended a course of treatment that, while may not be the usual first treatment step, was the least stressful for me and had the best results in the least amount of time. I’m not sure I can emphasize enough how relieved I am to have my foot problem cleared up completely without any pain, or how honest, amiable and comforting Dr. Metaxas was.
He was honestly one of the best physicians I have ever met with for any issue.”
Over the past couple of months, he’s used a chemical derived from oak trees to burn the skin chemically and once he whipped out a laser to go to town on one of them. The treatments leave your feet a little sore for a couple of days as blisters come out. The laser felt like a sharp pinch and he apologized profusely for what was basically me acting like a sissy. He’s really skilled with a knife, too (always good when that someone’s cutting your skin off).
Dr. Bill is funny, knows a lot about a lot of things, and is really, really smart — but still down-to-earth. He tells you what he’s doing and why, what your options are, and you can manage to fit a good conversation or two about stuff unrelated to your foot ailments in there too. You don’t feel rushed here.
”
Dr. Metaxas is very friendly, knowledgeable and professional. I don’t what he’s like for other disorders of the foot, but if his wart treatment is anything to go by, he’s probably pretty darn good.”
““Meeting Dr. Metaxas literally saved my life! After over a year of constant pain, I was referred to Dr Bill Metaxas when I couldn’t walk. I had seen Ortho, done three cycles of Physical Therapy (3x a week for 6 weeks), worn a boot, and also seen another podiatrist who severed a nerve when operating on my plantar fascitis. No one wanted to get involved with such a complicated case.
My primary care provider said that Dr. Metaxas was the best, so she begged for him to see me, even if he couldn’t take my case. He came by my house!
To make a long story short, Dr. Metaxas got me not only walking, but RUNNING.
He improved my quality of life to normal. I play tennis again, I go for hikes with my husband, I walk my dog…Dr. Metaxas is current with the field, innovative in his treatments, patient and caring. He encouraged me to not give up! He promised that we would get through it together. He suggested multiple interventions and therapies, including a referrals out for a cutting edge procedure, that all contributed to my eventual healing.
His staff is sweet too! Every time I had an interaction, they assessed my progress, and congratulated my progress. I’m a young vibrant newlywed. Dr. Metaxas literally saved me. My family and I thank him everyday. I have referred friends and colleagues who have had similar experiences as me. He is AMAZING!””

“Greatness Knows Itself”. Dr. Bill Metaxas defines greatness.
I was 4 weeks in pain and certain from my primary doctor, that I had an ingrown toenail. I called the office. I left a message and was promptly called back and made an appointment the next day. I expressed my chicken nature about needles and sensitivity of my feet. Dr. Bill’s staff assured me I would be given a great experience easing into the procedure.
The day of: Dr Bill walked in and began making my posture comfortable for me and for the procedure. The room was light-filled, with views to the city – a great atmosphere for a doctor visit. Dr. Bill began asking me what I do and we began a nice conversation which lasted through the procedure. He told me how the procedure would go and each step as he was executing it. The most important being my anesthesia and comfort. He has great tools to ease into the anesthesia application.
Dr. Bill checked with me and my comfort level each step of the procedure and all the while educating me about foot health. In a short 5 minutes the procedure was complete. What a relief!
He told me how I would feel the next 24 hours and to my delight I write this feeling just fine that same evening. I was prescribed an antibiotic for 10 days to ensure proper recovery and a followup visit 10 days later to check on my progress.
Dr. Metaxas is one of the finest physicians I’ve encountered.”
